Schwarzenegger tours scene of prison riot

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) visited Chino prison on Wednesday, which was the scene of a vicious riot on Saturday that involved nearly 1,000 prisoners.

Schwarzenegger tweeted:

Sections of the prison were so badly damaged during the fracas that some prisoners had to be transfered to other detention centers. The former action film star said at a news conference today that the prison resembled a scene from one of his movies except that the damage was real.

Schwarzenegger also called for sentencing reform to reduce overcrowding in prisons. The Chino facility was filled twice to capacity.
