DeLay still boogying down on the Twitterwebs

You won’t find the latest news about ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” in People magazine anymore. But you can get the scoop by reading former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay’s (R) Twitter.

Since news broke of his appearance on the show, the Texan has provided his 1,724 followers with news about his transformation from hard-nosed politician to graceful ballroom dancer.

He tweeted Tuesday:

In LA for rehearsals and title shoots. Also learning two dances. Cheryl says I am progressing very well. #dwts

“Cheryl” is Cheryl Burke, a professional dancer who will be paired with DeLay once the on-air dancing contest starts. Last week, DeLay called Burke, “the most patient person I have ever met,” which probably isn’t a testament to his dance moves.

Will Burke eventually have DeLay, who is nicknamed “The Hammer,” moving like this?
