Jennifer Stone from ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ says she’s now a nurse and ready to join the coronavirus ‘front lines’
Jennifer Stone, who played Harper Finkle in Disney’s “Wizards of Waverly Place” television series, has revealed she has since become a registered nurse and is now “ready to join” medical professionals working on the frontlines amid the coronavirus pandemic.
In an Instagram post shared by Stone on World Health Day this week, Stone, who starred alongside actress Selena Gomez on the show, displayed some of her current and past identification cards from her time as student nurse and, now, a registered nurse.
“A very good friend of mine (@maiarawalsh ) pointed out to me that today is #worldhealthday,” she captioned the image. “It is also the day I went from a volunteer, then a student nurse, and now an RN resident.”
“I just hope to live up to all of the amazing healthcare providers on the front lines now as I get ready to join them,” she continued.
In another Instagram post on Wednesday, Stone also shared a photo of her giving fans a thumbs up while sporting a mask.
“Why am I giving a thumbs up like a lame uncle?” she wrote in the caption. “Because I’m wearing a mask to flatten the curve, you can’t see me smiling out of gratitude for hitting 300,000 followers! Thank you guys for all of your love and support!”
According to an interview Stone gave in 2016, she stepped away from acting in 2013 after she was diagnosed Type 1 diabetes. She said then she decided to go to college: “I didn’t want to be the only one who hadn’t gotten a degree.”
In December, Stone announced on Instagram that she had graduated with a nursing degree.
“It’s been a long road of blood (mostly other people’s), sweat, and tears (those were mine) but I can finally call myself a nursing grad!” she said at the time.
