Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrate Archie’s first birthday with coronavirus charity video
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrated their son’s first birthday Wednesday with a video for a children’s charity.
In a video for Save the Children, a U.K.-based charity for children focusing on health care and antipoverty efforts, Markle reads 1-year-old Archie a picture book, “Duck! Rabbit!,” while Prince Harry operates the camera.
The couple gave up their royal titles and duties earlier this year, becoming the first pair of royals from the British Royal Family to abandon the lifestyle and seek a private alternative.
The two said at the time that they would split their time between the U.K. and North America, and have since moved to Los Angeles.
In April, the couple responded to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak by delivering meals to a number of vulnerable Los Angeles residents.
“What Meghan said is she wanted to show Harry Los Angeles through the eyes of philanthropy. It’s just beautiful,” Richard Ayoub, Project Angel Food’s executive director, said of their visit.
“There’s obviously a great deal of love and selflessness between them. They both are individuals who want to know about others. Our clients are clients who are often forgotten. They really wanted to go visit these people. They wanted to see them and talk to them and hopefully put a smile on their faces,” he added.
