White man mocks protesters in NJ by kneeling on man’s neck in viral clip

A viral video reportedly from New Jersey shows a white man mocking protesters taking part in a Black Lives Matter Demonstration by kneeling on a man’s neck on Monday, just weeks after the police killing of George Floyd.

{mosads}In footage of the moment, which a local NBC station reported took place in Franklin Township, the man could be seen yelling at the group of protesters as he kneeled on another man’s neck on Monday.

Behind both men, footage shows trucks decorated with banners supporting President Trump, a black and white American flag with one blue line, which is often used to express support for the Blue Lives Matter movement and a barrier with a sign reading, “All Lives Matter.”

A video of the clip that emerged on Twitter Monday has racked up over 350,000 views in the past day and has many on social media trying to figure out the identity of the two men.

According to the NBC10, one of the men works for the New Jersey Department of Corrections.

Daryan Fennal, who organized the local protest, told the station on Tuesday that demonstration by the two men showed him “that racism is real, racism is alive, it’s right next door to you.”

The counter-demonstration was condemned by the local mayor and police chief in a joint statement shortly after, according to the station.

In the statement, the two reportedly said they were “appalled and saddened by the revolting actions of certain individuals.”

“Without an understanding and mutual respect for all individuals, we can never aspire to create a united community based upon the idea of human respect and dignity for all,” they added.

The demonstration comes as widespread protests against police brutality continue in the nation following the police killing of George Floyd, who died in Minneapolis last month after a white officer was recorded kneeling on his neck during an arrest.
