Viral video shows woman holding Confederate flag at BLM protest: ‘I will teach my grandkids to hate you all’

A video went viral on Monday showing a woman holding a Confederate flag at a Black Lives Matter protest in Missouri and telling demonstrators, “I will teach my grandkids to hate you all.”

The 37-second video shows the woman in an apparent confrontation with a Black Lives Matter supporter while she is sitting on a truck in the parking lot of Dixie Outfitters in Branson, Mo., on Sunday, the Springfield News-Leader reported

More than 65 protesters gathered in the area to demonstrate against the store, whose owners reportedly had a history with the Ku Klux Klan, according to the newspaper. Almost 50 turned out to support the store and the Confederate flag.

The woman, who identified herself as Kathy Bennett of Branson to the newspaper, was sporting a camouflage “Make America Great Again” hat when she addressed protesters, saying “I’ll teach them to f—ing hate all of you.”

“I will teach my grandkids to hate you all,” she said in the clip that has more than 3.9 million views on Twitter.

The woman followed up by saying, “Suck on this” as she draped the Confederate flag over herself. She then turned around, made a fist and said, “KKK belief.”

The video spread across social media, and rapper and producer Ice-T tweeted it along with the caption “Racist of the Day.”

The second Black Lives Matter protest at Dixie Outfitters ended peacefully at about 7:30 p.m. The demonstration’s organizers said they chose to protest at the store after reading a 2015 News-Leader story about the owners’ history with the KKK.

Dixie Outfitters says on its website that it is “dedicated to preserving, showing pride in, and educating others about true Southern history and the Southern way of life, through our art and apparel.”
