Breonna Taylor’s ex-boyfriend arrested on drug charges
Jamarcus Glover, Breonna Taylor’s former boyfriend and a key figure in the case surrounding her death, was arrested Thursday.
Glover was booked on multiple drug-related charges, including complicity possession of a controlled substance for cocaine and heroin, and complicity trafficking in marijuana. He is being held on a $50,000 bond, according to multiple reports.
Taylor was killed in March after officers in Louisville entered her home with a no-knock warrant. The officers came under fire from Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, after entering, and she was shot at least eight times when the officers returned gunfire.
Glover was one of the targets of a drugs investigation by Louisville Police that led to the no-knock raid.
Taylor’s death has prompted nationwide protests calling for widespread police reforms, in addition to the deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and other Black Americans.
Glover was arrested the morning before Taylor was killed, but he was released on bail. He was arrested this week after allegedly failing to pay bail on other drug offenses last month, according to CNN.
The outlet previously reported that Glover had used Taylor’s address as his “current home address,” according to a search warrant affidavit. He also made a trip to her apartment in January.
Taylor’s sister, Ju’Niyah Palmer, has said that Taylor was not involved in Glover’s alleged association with a drug operation. Glover told the Louisville Courier Journal that she had no involvement in illegal drug trafficking.
Taylor and Walker were asleep at the time of the no-knock raid.
