Johnson didn’t mention his Biden endorsement in his latest message, but his video came after he made headlines for delivering his first public political endorsement for the Democratic presidential nominee last month.
Johnson said he felt Biden and running mate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) were the “best choice to lead our country.”
Conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh and Fox News host Mark Levin ripped Johnson for throwing his support behind Biden. Limbaugh said the performer “sold his soul to China,” while Levin dubbed Johnson a “self-righteous egomaniac.”
But Johnson appeared in a celebratory mood on Thursday, as he announced he had become the most-followed man in America on Instagram, with 200 million followers. He also said he was Instagram’s most-followed American man in the world.
“Thank you for giving me the space to speak my truth,” he said.
“Even when the conversations get uncomfortable — when you approach with respect and care — on the other side of discomfort — is clarity and progress.”
