Retired Navy admiral behind bin Laden raid adapts bestseller ‘Make Your Bed’ for kids
The retired Navy admiral who led the raid behind the death of Osama bin Laden is adapting his best-selling book for kids.
William McRaven is turning his book “Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life … And Maybe the World” into a kids book called “Make Your Bed with Skipper the Seal,” Little, Brown and Company announced Monday.
The book is set to be released on Oct. 12 and is about Skipper the seal going through Navy SEAL training and learning how to be a good SEAL, the announcement says.
“When my three children were young, I always took time to read to them,” McRaven said, according to The Associated Press. “I found that stories of adventure and overcoming challenges helped shape their character and inspired them to be their very best. I hope that ‘Make Your Bed with Skipper the Seal’ is just such a book!”
McRaven was the commander of U.S. Special Operations Command and led the 2011 raid on bin Laden’s compound. McRaven retired in 2014 but has still been vocal politically.
McRaven said that he had voted early for President Biden and that former President Trump was an embarrassment on the world stage.
