Watch live: Garland testifies before House panel

Attorney General Merrick Garland is set to testify before a House Appropriations subcommittee Tuesday morning for a Department of Justice budget request.

Garland is expected to emphasize the Justice Department’s commitment to national security and civil rights as he asks lawmakers to support President Biden’s budget proposal.

The hearing is set for 10 a.m.
