NFL to give 50 free Super Bowl LVI tickets to vaccinated fans

The NFL announced on Wednesday that fans vaccinated against the coronavirus will have an opportunity to win free tickets to next year’s Super Bowl.

Fans who share why they got vaccinated, or soon will, will be eligible to win a pair of tickets to Super Bowl LVI. The league said it is giving away 50 free tickets.

Super Bowl LVI will be held at Los Angeles’s SoFi Stadium on Feb. 13.

“This campaign is the latest step of the league’s response to help the country recover and return to normalcy,” the league wrote in a statement announcing the initiative.

The NFL also plans to offer vaccinated fans a 25 percent discount on purchases made at the league’s online store, NFLShop.com, later this year.

Additional details on how to win tickets to the Super Bowl will be announced during Saturday’s “Global Citizen’s VAX Live: The Concert to Reunite the World” show, the NFL said.

More than 3 million vaccinations have been administered at 21 NFL stadiums and facilities since June, according to the league.

In February, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell sent a letter to President Biden inviting local, state and federal health officials to use all 32 stadiums as vaccination sites.

This year’s Super Bowl, which was played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla., in February, had only about 22,000 fans in attendance, including 7,500 vaccinated health care workers.
