Staff writer

I cover U.S. West climate and policy issues for The Hill from my home base in Colorado. In December 2022, I earned a SEAL Environmental Journalism Award for the breadth of my environment and sustainability coverage that year. I’m also co-authoring a book-in-progress on “forever chemicals” (PFAS).

Prior to joining The Hill in 2021, I had the honor of spending the 2019-2020 academic year as a Ted Scripps Fellow in Environmental Journalism at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Before my move out West, I lived for nearly a decade in Israel, primarily reporting on environment and energy for The Jerusalem Post and honing an interest in cross-border water diplomacy. My work in the Middle East was a natural transition from my formative, first journalism job, as a reporter for The New York Jewish Week.

I earned my master’s degree in 2008 from Columbia Journalism School and my bachelor’s degree in 2007 from the University of Pennsylvania, where I also wrote for The Daily Pennsylvanian. I grew up in Central New Jersey.
