Eight NFL teams have reached the 85 percent threshold of COVID-19 vaccinations necessary to open training camps with fewer restrictions, according to the NFL Network

The NFL Network said an eighth team had reached that target on Tuesday, though it did not identify any of the teams.

Sports Illustrated’s NFL senior reporter Albert Breer shared in June that the Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints are two of the reported seven teams that reached the threshold.

NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero said 71 percent of players have had at least one shot of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Monday was the deadline for players to get vaccinated in order to avoid restrictions.

Players who are not vaccinated will be tested daily for COVID-19 and will have to wear masks. They will also be subject to social distancing restrictions that would limit the number of people in rooms and would not be able to eat in team cafeterias.

The Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) shared in June that 99 percent of its players are fully vaccinated.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data, 68 percent of American adults have at least been partly vaccinated, while 59 percent of adults are fully vaccinated.
