Colorado Gov. Jared Polis makes history marrying long-time partner Marlon Reis
Colorado Gov. Jared Polis, the first openly gay man to be elected a state governor, made more history on Wednesday marrying his longtime partner Marlon Reis.
“The greatest lesson we have learned over the past 18 months is that life as we know it can change in an instant. We are thankful for the opportunity to celebrate our life together as a married couple,” Polis posted on Twitter with a picture of the couple on their wedding day.
“After 18 years together, we couldn’t be happier to be married at last,” he added.

The wedding was held outside and all guests provided a negative COVID-19 test before attending, according to the press release.
