Music icon Tony Bennett has set a Guinness World Record as the oldest person to release an album of new music.

“Wow, thank you to all my fans,” Bennett said in an Oct. 8 video upon learning the news.

Bennett, 95, released a new album in collaboration with Lady Gaga called “Love For Sale” on Oct. 1.

In August, Bennett retired from performing live, following a show with Lady Gaga, on doctor’s orders.

“It’s not the singing aspect but rather the traveling,” Danny Bennett, his son and manager, told Variety. “He gets tired. We don’t want him to fall on stage, for instance. We’re not worried about him being able to sing. We are worried, from a physical standpoint … about human nature. Tony’s 95.”

In February, Tony Bennett and his family revealed to AARP Magazine that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2016.

This isn’t the first world record that Bennett has broken. According to Guinness, Bennett also holds the current records for the oldest person to reach No. 1 on the U.S. album chart with a newly recorded album, the oldest person to enter the U.K. top 20 album chart, the longest period of time between releasing an original recording and a re-recording of the same single by the same artist, and the longest time between U.K. top 20 albums.
