Bachmann: We will have ‘right’ female president

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) jabbed Hillary Clinton’s potential 2016 bid during the final day of the Conservative Political Action Conference.

{mosads}”We will have a woman for president, just the right one,” she told the rousing crowd on Saturday. “The other party talks a lot about nominating a woman in 2016 and that’s fine, but she’s going to have a lot of tough question’s she’s going to have to answer.”

Bachmann went on to assail the former secretary of State’s track record in international relations, citing unrest with Russia and the Benghazi attacks in 2012 that killed four Americans.

The Minnesota lawmaker was one of the few featured women speakers at the three day conservative confab. As she rallied the crowd, she noted that Republicans were the only party to have a woman on the presidential ticket this century, referencing Sarah Palin’s vice presidential ticket in 2008.

Bachmman, who launched an unsuccessful run for the Oval Office in 2012, made headlines last month when she said that a lot of people “aren’t ready” for a female president.

“I think there was a cachet about having an African-American president because of guilt,” she said last month. “People don’t hold guilt for a woman,” adding that although people vote for woman for other offices, “I don’t think there is a pent-up desire” for a female president.
