News bites: Western states and Canada join on climate, BP kicks off 3rd quarter, and more

AP reports that governors from West Coast states joined with a Canadian province official on Monday to put a price on greenhouse gas pollution.

Reuters reports the oil giant BP kicked off the third quarter with good news for investors.

Bloomberg reveals it might take more than a year for California to finish a thorough environmental review of hydraulic fracturing. 

“I think we ought to give science a chance before deciding on a ban on fracking,” California Gov. Jerry Brown (D) said Monday. California’s study will become “the most comprehensive environmental analysis of fracking to date,” he said.
