RNC launching comical ads highlighting ObamaCare site glitches

The Republican National Committee is launching new, comical ads highlighting the botched ObamaCare enrollment website rollout.

The ads riff off of a campaign comparing and contrasting Mac computers to PCs that ran years ago and featured two actors posing as each computer to highlight the differences between them.

Similarly, the RNC’s new ads feature an overweight, rumpled man as the ObamaCare website and a young man as the “private sector.”

One ad, called “Down,” shows the ObamaCare stand-in laying on the floor, “down for a little maintenance,” he says.

“Down for maintenance?” the private sector asks. “I don’t understand. I work all the time, 24-7, customers depend on it.”

“Down” will run Tuesday night during Comedy Central’s “Daily Show” in the Washington, D.C., area.

The committee is launching three other similar Web ads in the campaign, which it says is part of an effort to educate young voters about the law.

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said the videos “help to convey the absurdity of ObamaCare.”

“The president didn’t keep his promise to Americans; if you like your insurance plan, there’s a good chance you won’t be able to keep it. Adding insult to injury, he refuses to hold anyone in his administration accountable for any of ObamaCare’s costly side-effects,” he said in a statement. “These videos help to convey the absurdity of ObamaCare and the administration’s careless behavior.”
