Perry adds to SC itinerary

Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) has added three stops to a previously planned swing through early primary state South Carolina, giving him the opportunity to connect with local activists and donors as he explores a potential 2016 presidential bid.

{mosads}According to CNN, Perry is speaking to the Rotary Club of Downtown Spartanburg next Tuesday, offering him a chance to meet with members of the local business community there.

On Wednesday, Perry is keynoting the Electric Co-Ops of South Carolina Annual Meeting in Greenville, S.D., and will speak at a fundraiser for a local Boy Scouts chapter in the same town.

The stops come in addition to his plans to keynote a South Carolina GOP banquet in Spartanburg next Tuesday, a stop that had previously been reported.

This will be Perry’s second trip to the state this year. He’s also traveled to Iowa, another early primary state and traditional stop for presidential hopefuls.
