Voting rights activists poised to party

WE HEAR: Supporters of voting rights in the nation’s capital are poised to “party with a purpose” next week.

{mosads}DC Vote, an education and advocacy organization pushing for full voting representation in Congress, will hold its inaugural Three Star Ball: Party with a Purpose on May 22. The shindig will be held on the rooftop of the National Association of Realtors, overlooking the Capitol dome. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.) is among the VIPs expected to attend the festivities, which are honoring the DC Brau Brewing Co. and Washington Life magazine editor-in-chief Nancy Bagley.

DC Vote Executive Director Kimberly Perry tells ITK the group is aiming to bring young professionals together with the ball, because “D.C. residents have no voice or vote in Congress, DC Vote wants to bring everyone together to stand up to make a change.”
