DNC doubles down: Dems will hold Senate
Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) on Tuesday morning repeated recent comments that her party would hold the Senate and pick up gubernatorial positions.
{mosads}”The American people just want us to work together … and I think that voters will go to the polls today and vote for making sure that we can move forward, not backward — and that’s why we’ll have some success today,” she said during an appearance on MSNBC.
She also defended her party’s focus this cycle on women’s issues.
“I think when you talk about economic issues that are important to women, healthcare issues that are important to women, you’re always talking about important, top-of-the-agenda things,” she said.
High-profile Democrats have predicted in the past few days that they would hold the Senate. On Monday, White House press secretary Josh Earnest said that the White House has faith in the party’s turnout operation. Vice President Biden also said he believes Democrats will hold the upper chamber.
