Obama to make Sunday show appearance

Still reeling from the GOP’s “good night” during Tuesday’s midterm elections, President Obama will make a rare Sunday show appearance this weekend, granting an interview to CBS News’s “Face the Nation.”

{mosads}“Looking forward to sitting down with President Obama for our 60th anniversary broadcast this Sunday — hope you’ll join us,” the show’s host, Bob Schieffer, tweeted Thursday morning.

Obama conducted a more than hourlong press briefing on Wednesday, but the CBS interview will be his first time answering questions after meeting with top members of Congress at the White House — including the Republican Senate leadership.

During Wednesday’s exchange with reporters, Obama conceded that one area “we’re constantly experimenting and trying to do better is just making sure that people know exactly what it is that we’re trying to accomplish.” The president joked that could include doing more to court members of Congress or the media.

“I’m going to try different things — whether it’s having a drink with Mitch McConnell or letting John Boehner beat me again at golf, or weekly press conferences — I don’t know if that would be effective,” he said.

It will be the president’s first Sunday morning show appearance since an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press” in early September. His last TV appearance was a “60 Minutes” interview later that month.
