Obama helps sing ‘On the Road Again’

President Obama joined Willie Nelson on stage earlier this week to help sing a rendition of “On the Road Again.”

The concert at the White House was hosted Thursday and broadcast on PBS on Friday night, with another airing Tuesday.

{mosads}Obama closed out the hour-long performance by introducing Nelson, who was on stage with a number of other singers, including Mary J. Blige, Common and John Fogerty.

“I think it is fair to say that we need to finish up with somebody who knows a little bit about music, knows a little bit about America and loves our troops: Mr. Willie Nelson,” Obama said.

“”Willie says I’m going to have to sing with him. So I’ll try it out,” he added before the song gets going.

Michelle Obama joins them on stage midway through the song, and Obama can be seen singing along towards the end.

The song starts near minute 50 of the PBS video, and Buzzfeed captured a shorter clip.

Obama hosted the performance on the South Lawn on Thursday in honor of the upcoming Veterans Day called “A Salute to the Troops: In Performance at the White House.”
