Obama dodges DC cold in California
As Washington prepared Monday for what might be its biggest snowfall of the winter, President Obama played a round of gold in the much warmer Rancho Mirage, Calif.
{mosads}He traveled in the morning to the Porcupine Creek Golf Course, which is owned by former Oracle CEO Larry Ellison. Ellison has hosted the president during his California trip.
Obama’s foursome was rounded out by Bobby Titcomb, Mike Ramos and Greg Orme, three friends from his childhood in Hawaii who frequently join him on golf outings. It is his second golf game in as many days.
D.C. residents braced Monday for what could be the largest snowfall this season, with forecasts calling for between five and eight inches. While it was around 14 degrees in the capital on Monday, it was a balmy 60 degrees in Rancho Mirage.
Republicans frequently criticize Obama’s golf outings, especially when they come as dire events unfold elsewhere in the world.
