China rebukes Trump on trade: ‘It’s a two-way, win-win situation’

China on Wednesday dismissed claims from GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump that it is stealing American jobs through unbalanced trading agreements.

{mosads}“Economic and trade cooperation between China and the United States has grown to such an extent today that it has become like, ‘You are among us and we are among you,’” said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang, according to Reuters.

“It’s a two-way, win-win situation,” he said. “Such trade has actually given the two sides great benefits.”

Kang also said that the U.S. and China have helpful mechanisms in place for resolving any disputes over jobs or trade.

“I believe that despite the frictions that still exist, both sides are able to handle it through existing channels,” he said without directly naming Trump. “I believe that without a good foundation, this kind of trade relationship cannot be sustained.”

Trump formally launched his 2016 bid on Tuesday from New York’s Trump Tower.

He characterized pending international trade agreements between Beijing and Washington, D.C. as “stupid” during his announcement speech.

The wealthy business mogul also promoted job creation as a central part of his young campaign.

“Our country needs a truly great leader, and we need a truly great leader now,” Trump said. “We need somebody who can take the brand of the United States and make it great again.”

“I will be the greatest jobs president that God ever created, I tell you that,” he added.
