Poll: Sanders holds NH lead over Clinton

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) narrowly leads former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the Democratic presidential race in New Hampshire, according to a poll released this week.

{mosads}Sanders is supported by 35 percent of likely voters in the nation’s first primary, followed by Clinton at 31 percent, according to the poll by WBUR, a Boston-area NPR affiliate.

Vice President Biden, who is considering entering the 2016 Democratic presidential race, earns 14 percent.

It is the fifth-consecutive poll showing Sanders leading Clinton, with another poll from Monmouth University released this week also finding him leading by single digits.

WBUR finds Sanders is viewed slightly more favorably than Clinton by likely primary voters in the Granite State, 64 to 56 percent. Clinton doubles Sanders’s unfavorable figures, 30 to 15 percent, respectively.

The survey of 404 likely Democratic primary voters was conducted Sept. 12-15 via landlines and cellphones with a margin of error of 4.9 points.
