Fiorina faces Planned Parenthood protesters at football tailgate

Over a dozen pro-abortion-rights activists confronted Carly Fiorina at a University of Iowa football game tailgate on Saturday, according to the Des Moines Register.

The group chanted “Off-sides for telling lies” accusing Fiorina of lying about the contents of a video targeting Planned Parenthood over its handling of fetal tissue.

{mosads}They also chanted “layoffs, lies, no surprise, Carly fumbles for these Hawkeyes,” a reference to the Iowa football team.

Fiorina has been caught in a controversy with Planned Parenthood since the second GOP debate, when she said one of the videos showed a “fully formed fetus on the table, its heart beating.”

But critics say that in the videos released by the anti-abortion group targeting Planned Parenthood, there is no such scene.

Fiorina’s campaign brushed off the protests, saying it was a sigh Democrats recognize her as one of the top contenders in the GOP field.

“She’s clearly top tier,” Fiorina’s Iowa strategist Christopher Rants said.

The Planned Parenthood supporters stressed the group’s work on multiple women’s health issues.

“The term abortion doesn’t even come into my mind when I think about Planned Parenthood,” protestor Cindy Shireman, a community college employee, told the Register. “To use Planned Parenthood on the abortion agenda is just ridiculous, especially by a female candidate.”
