Trump continues huge leads in SC polling
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump continues to lead the field in South Carolina days before its Saturday primary, with a bottleneck for second place, according to a new poll.
Trump got 33 percent support in an American Research Group (ARG) poll conducted this week and released Tuesday.
{mosads}Marco Rubio follows at 16 percent, then Ted Cruz and John Kasich at 14 percent apiece and Jeb Bush at 9 percent.
Ben Carson sits at 3 percent. Another 8 percent of likely GOP voters remain undecided.
The survey of 400 likely GOP primary voters was conducted Feb. 14-16 via telephones with a margin of error of 5 percentage points.
Trump has led a series of polls in the state released this week, though others have found different results in the tightly-packed race for second place.
A survey from the South Carolina House GOP had Cruz at 16 percent, with Rubio and Bush at 15 percent apiece, Kasich at 8 percent and Carson at 7 percent.
CNN/ORC found Cruz at 22 percent, Rubio at 14 percent, Bush at 10 percent, Carson at 6 percent and Kasich at 4 percent.
Public Policy Polling found Rubio and Cruz tied for second with 18 percent, Kasich at 10 percent, and Bush and Carson tied at 7 percent apiece.
