Conservative group calls on Clinton to release Wall Street transcripts

A conservative super-PAC has released a television ad attacking Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton over her paid speeches.

The ad, created by Future45, goes at Clinton for not releasing transcripts of her speeches to Wall Street firms, a line of attack favored by Democratic primary rival Bernie Sanders.

{mosads}“Hillary Clinton gave speeches to the biggest banks on Wall Street after one of the worst financial crises in American history,” a narrator says in the video as an actor playing Clinton opens a check from Goldman Sachs.

“But Hillary won’t tell us what she said to those banks, who paid her over $1 million and are contributing millions more to elect her. So before you promise your vote to Hillary, don’t you deserve to know what she promised them?”

Future45 is a conservative super-PAC that has not supported any specific candidate. Its two largest donors are hedge fund billionaires Ken Griffin and Paul Singer, who both made contributions of $250,000 to the group.

The attack ad is the latest call for the former secretary of State to provide some transparency to her interactions with the financial sector. CNN reports the ad will begin running on Tuesday.

The New York Times editorial board on Thursday also called on Clinton to release the transcripts, saying that “voters have every right to know what Mrs. Clinton told these groups.”
