Trump: Kasich has a lot of problems in Ohio

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump hit rival John Kasich on Wednesday, saying the governor has issues in his home state.

“He’s got a lot of problems I think in Ohio,” Trump said on Fox News on Wednesday.

{mosads}During the interview, Fox News host Sean Hannity said that Kasich called a contested convention “exciting” and added that it would be the only path to the nomination.

But Trump brushed it off, going on to answer a question about the effort to prevent him from securing the nomination.

At a rally earlier on Wednesday, the real estate mogul also attacked Kasich, calling him an “absentee governor.”

Trump said on CNN Wednesday he is trying to deliver a “knockout” in the upcoming primaries in both Ohio and Florida.

Trump and Kasich are both looking for a win in the Ohio primary on March 15. Ohio, a winner-take-all state with 66 delegates at stake, is a must-win for Kasich.

A Fox News survey released Wednesday showed Kasich leading Trump in his home state, 34 percent to 29 percent.

According to the RealClearPolitics average of polls, Trump holds a slight edge over the governor, of 2.5 points. Trump has 36.5 percent and Kasich takes 34 percent. Trump has led most other polls in the governor’s home state, though by a small margin.

Kasich has said in the past that he would drop out of the race if he doesn’t win Ohio.
