Ben Carson, a campaign surrogate for President-elect Donald Trump, says he is in “discussions” about a possible Cabinet position in the incoming administration.
{mosads}“We’re having discussions,” Carson said in an interview with “Fox and Friends.”
“You know my goal in all of this is not so much a Cabinet position or any type of government position, but to really help America move in the right direction, to make an environment where our children have the same kind of opportunities,” he continued.
Carson added that he could fill this role whether he’s in Trump’s government or “outside.”
The retired neurosurgeon, who endorsed Trump quickly after dropping out of the 2016 White House race, is reportedly a contender for surgeon general or Health and Human Services secretary.
