‘Saturday Night Live’ switches gears in post-election opening

“Saturday Night Live” avoided a presidential election sketch in the opening of its first show since Donald Trump’s stunning victory.

{mosads}Instead, Kate McKinnon’s Hillary Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, sat at a piano, playing “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen, who died last week at the age of 82.

“I’m not giving up, and neither should you,” she says at the end of the song.

“And live from New York, it’s Saturday Night.”

Alec Baldwin did not appear as Trump, the president-elect, during the show.
