Ginsburg sends note to fan who dressed like her for ‘Superhero Day’
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg sent a handwritten letter to the 8-year-old who dressed up as the Supreme Court justice for “Super Hero” day at school, telling the girl, “You look just like me.”
“Dear Michele: You look just like me! May you continue to thrive on reading and learning. Every good wish, Ruth Bader Ginsburg,” the letter read, according to The Huffington Post.
Ginsburg added a separate note on her official letterhead with a typed quote about the importance of reading.
{mosads}“Reading is the key that opens doors to many good things in life. Reading shaped my dreams, and more reading helped me make my dreams comes true,” the paper said, with Ginsburg’s full name typed below.
“When I read it, I felt really happy because she said I looked just like her. It was really special because she wrote it by hand,” the girl told her mother, according to the report.
Michele received the note last week after dressing up as Ginsburg in December. The 8-year-old was inspired after reading “I Dissent: Ruth Bader Ginsburg Makes Her Mark,” a book about Ginsburg written for children.
