Fox host defends Trump comments

Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo tweeted in defense of President Trump’s controversial comments on Tuesday, saying that he fought back against critics with an “excellent” press conference at Trump Tower.  

The “Mornings with Maria” host said that Trump presented needed “facts” when he stated that people protesting the white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Va., over the weekend also were to blame for the resulting violence.

“What about the alt-left that came charging at the — as you say, the alt-right?” he said in New York.

Trump’s comments at the conference drew bipartisan backlash on Tuesday, as he doubled down on his first response saying that both sides bore responsibility. 

Bartiromo interviewed Trump in April, when he touched on several key policy issues including foreign policy in Syria and healthcare reform.
