Flake: Congress must protect DACA kids
Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), a frequent critic of President Trump, is calling on Congress to protect enrollees in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, amid increased speculation that Trump may end it.

Republicans including House Speaker Paul Ryan (Wisc.) and Sen Orrin Hatch (Utah) pressed Trump on Friday not to halt the program.

“I actually don’t think he should do that and I believe that this is something Congress has to fix,” Ryan told WCLO Janesville.
Hatch, who stands with Trump on other immigration issues, said in a statement that there needs to be a “workable, permanent” solution for individuals who unwillingly enter the country illegally as children.
Shortly after Flake’s tweet, Trump said his decision on the so-called “Dreamers” will be coming “sometime over the weekend, maybe this afternoon.”
