Yates rips Trump over FBI tweet: What’s in ‘tatters’ is his respect for rule of law
Former acting Attorney General Sally Yates on Sunday hit back at President Trump for claiming the FBI was “in tatters.”
“The FBI is in ‘tatters’? No. The only thing in tatters is the President’s respect for the rule of law. The dedicated men and women of the FBI deserve better,” Yates tweeted.

Her comment came in response to a tweet from Trump in which he slammed the FBI and its former director, James Comey.
{mosads}”After years of Comey, with the phony and dishonest Clinton investigation (and more), running the FBI, its reputation is in Tatters – worst in History! But fear not, we will bring it back to greatness,” the president tweeted.

The tweet came days after Trump’s former national security adviser Michael Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his contact with Russian officials.
Yates had warned the White House that Flynn created a “compromise situation” and could have been “blackmailed” as a result of his foreign contacts.
Trump fired Yates in January after she refused to defend his travel ban.
