DNC to push Obama vets bill in crucial swing states

While Obama’s jobs plan as a whole was rejected by Republicans, the veterans component is a rare example of an Obama initiative that has enjoyed bipartisan support. The tax credits, which were added as an amendment to a bill affecting government contracting, are expected to pass the Senate before Veterans Day on Friday.

The Democratic National Committee will air the ad on cable and broadcast stations for one week in Albuquerque, N.M., Dayton, Ohio and two media markets in North Carolina.

All three are swing states that Obama won in 2008 and are part of the president’s path to reelection victory in 2012. Obama has traveled to Ohio and North Carolina as part of his push to rally support for his jobs plan.
