Airline offers 9-9-9 vacation package

Seeking to capitalize on Herman Cain’s now-famous 9-9-9 plan to reform the tax code, Spirit Airlines is offering its own 9-9-9 vacation plan.

Travelers can get one-way fares as low as $9, assuming they buy it as part of a round-trip package.

Unlike Cain’s plan, the airline fare doesn’t include taxes.

{mosads}”America can’t wait until 2012, you need a vacation now!” the offer says. “With our 9-9-9 Vacation Plan, we have real solutions to reduce spending.”

Spirit Airlines has actually offered fares at these rates for years as part of its “$9 fare club.” But this is the first time the airline has marketed it as 9-9-9.

“We don’t comment on politics, but just to set the record straight, we were $9 before 9 was cool,” a Spirit Airlines representative told The Hill.

Cain’s plan to set income taxes, sales taxes and capital gains taxes at a flat 9 percent has helped him build national name recognition with breakneck speed, but it has also come under increasing attack from his GOP opponents.
