It’s official: Santorum won the Iowa caucuses

On the night of the caucuses, results released by the Iowa GOP had shown that Romney won with a single-digit margin. The party reversed it’s course Thursday with a new unofficial count that had Santorum in the lead.
“In order to clarify conflicting reports and to affirm the results released January 18 by the Republican Party of Iowa, Chairman Matthew Strawn and the State Central Committee declared Senator Rick Santorum the winner of the 2012 Iowa Caucus,” a statement from the party read.
