Huckabee: Obama will only get short-term benefit from bin Laden death
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) also dismissed the idea that bin Laden’s death would help the president’s political prospects.
“I don’t believe that Barack Obama is a stronger candidate. … I believe that the economy is going to be on the forefront of America’s mind as we go down this process.”
Yet it’s an open question as to how significantly Obama’s boost in the polls will weigh on undecided potential candidates like Huckabee, Giuliani and Palin.
For his part, Huckabee said on Thursday that he would make a presidential decision “sooner rather than later,” although what that exactly means is unclear.
The former Arkansas governor made a splash today when he announced on his radio program that he would make a”very important announcement” on his Saturday Fox television program, but his media appearances leading up to the show indicate that it will likely serve as a conduit to discuss his new education company, Learn Our History, that will produce videos about history for children.
Huckabee has previously given himself a summer deadline to make a presidential decision.
