Coulter attacks Rubio for inexperience, boots

Stumping for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Tuesday, conservative commentator Ann Coulter mocked Marco Rubio’s lack of experience and choice in shoes.

“When Fox News, National Review and the Washington establishment come to you and say, ‘Wouldn’t you prefer that nice Cuban boy? He wears nice high heels, and, true, he has no experience and big ears, but we’ve had great luck with that,’ ” Coulter said at a Trump campaign event in Milford, N.H.

Coulter slammed Rubio’s previous support for immigration reform legislation, accusing him of wanting bring in 33 million immigrants over the next 10 years.

“Should we keep replacing Americans with Somalis, Pakistanis, Hondurans and Mexicans?” she asked, to which the audience responded with a resounding “no.”

And while lamenting that young people no longer want to be president when they grow up, Coulter swerved: “Except Marco Rubio. He still wants to run for president when he grows up.”

Rubio finished 1 percentage point behind Trump’s 24 percent at the Iowa presidential caucuses Monday night.

Coulter said Trump putting the interests of the American people above “the interests of plutocrats” makes for a “strange” campaign these days.

“I’ve never seen anything like this Donald Trump,” Coulter sarcastically said. “Politicians are supposed to make a lot of promises they don’t intend to keep. … They’re not supposed to tell us what they really mean.”

During Trump’s campaign, he’s used every “politically incorrect” term in the book, she said.

“I think he’s going to give up on making bad deals for Americans,” she said, listing examples of how Trump would act differently than the current administration.

“When the director of immigration comes to President Trump and says since 9/11, we’ve admitted 1.5 million Muslims, 90 percent of whom immediately go on welfare and some percentage of whom kill Americans in horrible terrorist attacks, should we keep admitting 1 million Muslim immigrants every 10 years?” she said.

Audience members yelled “no,” to which Coulter responded, “That’s exactly what President Trump is going to say.”
