Trump touts New York ‘twang’ at rally

Republican presidential front-runner and New Yorker Donald Trump connected with upstate voters over their “same accent” at a rally in Watertown, N.Y., Saturday afternoon.

{mosads}“I love being with you people,” he said during a rally. “The same accent. I have the same accent, unfortunately for all of us, right? I have that same beautiful little twang as you do.”

Trump was born in New York City and has lived there for most of his life. He is widely expected to win the state’s Republican primary on Tuesday and holds a 23-point lead among upstate voters, according to a recent poll.
