Bill Clinton to campaign with Terry McAuliffe

{mosads}The campaign said that details about the campaign stops would be announced in coming days.

In a statement announcing the events, the campaign said that the former president will “discuss the importance of voting in the 2013 gubernatorial election and the clear choice facing Virginia voters between Terry McAuliffe’s mainstream plan to create jobs and invest in education and Ken Cuccinelli’s extreme ideological agenda.”

McAuliffe has long been active in the Democratic Party. He led the Democratic National Committee while President Clinton was in office and was also a top fundraiser for Hillary Clinton during her 2008 bid for president.

The former secretary of State’s appearance with McAuliffe on Saturday was her first public political event since the 2008 election and prompted renewed questions about her intentions in 2016.

McAuliffe has maintained a steady lead over Republican Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli in the race in polls in recent weeks.
