Calif. gov. hasn’t decided on reelection

California Gov. Jerry Brown (D) has not yet decided whether he’ll run for reelection in 2014, despite an aggressive fundraising schedule that has him well-prepared for a possible reelection fight.

{mosads}Brown dodged a question about his plans at an event last week, according to an Los Angeles Times report.

“I am aware that in November of next year there will be an election, and I will make some decisions regarding that,” he said.

The well-liked California governor has raised more than $13 million as of July 1, and continues to hold high-dollar fundraisers at the homes of Hollywood moguls like Disney Studio Chairman Alan Horn.

According to the Times, Brown has since July 1 raised more than $4.2 million from more than 120 donors.

He’s spent relatively little of that money, and none on campaign consultants. If he decides to make a bid, he’s expected to tap old friends to help him run his campaign.

So far, only two Republicans — former Lt. Governor Abel Maldonado and Republican Assemblyman Tim Donnelly — have said they will run for governor.
