Poll: Abbot holds single-digit lead over Davis in Texas gubernatorial race
{mosads}Abbott leads Davis 29 percent to 21 percent with half of voters undecided, according to a survey from the Texas Lyceum, a nonpartisan Texas organization.
Those undecided numbers are markedly high for a poll, even with both candidates relatively unknown in the expansive state. The poll also was conducted over a two-week period, much longer than most professional pollsters use.
But its findings mirror others from earlier in the year that found Abbott with a high single-digit lead over Davis.
Abbott is the clear front-runner in the conservative-leaning state, and already has more than $20 million in the bank for the campaign.
