Upton challenger officially enters race

Hoogendyk held Upton to 57 percent of the vote in 2010 despite spending just $62,000 to Upton’s $2 million on the race. He is unlikely to struggle as much financially this time around: the fiscally conservative Club for Growth is already on the air slamming Upton as a “liberal,” and Club for Growth spokesman Barney Keller told The Hill in November that the group “came away impressed” after meeting with Hoogendyk and indicated they might endorse him.
