House Democratic candidates head to Washington for DCCC training
“Last week House Democrats outraised House Republicans and this week
more strong Democratic candidates are stepping forward all across the
country — putting the House Republican majority in jeopardy,” Israel
said in a statement. “From all walks of life, these Democratic
candidates are committed to creating jobs, strengthening the middle
class, reigniting the American dream, and returning control of the House
of Representatives to the American people.”
Democrats need to pick up 25 seats in the House to take back control from Republicans, who seized the majority in 2010.
{mosads}The National Republican Congressional Committee, meanwhile, it hoping to strengthen the GOP’s hold in the chamber by retaining the freshman members who won seats in 2010 and picking off additional Democrats in competitive districts.
The candidate lineups in many House races are still murky due to the once-per-decade map-redrawing process that in many states is still under way.
