Bill Clinton to stump in Arkansas for his former FEMA director

President Bill Clinton will stump for his former FEMA director in his native state of Arkansas, according to The Associated Press.

{mosads}Clinton will appear at an event with James Lee Witt (D), who ran the Federal Emergency Management Agency during Clinton’s presidency, at an early April event in Hot Springs, Ark.

The event is part of a renewed push by Clinton on the campaign trail, with most of his early stops for close allies. He’s appearing on Tuesday alongside Kentucky Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes (D), whose father is close to the Clintons, and recently did an email fundraiser for former Rep. Mike Ross’s (R-Ark.) gubernatorial bid. Ross began his political career as Clinton’s campaign driver.

Witt, running for the seat Rep. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) is vacating for a Senate run, faces a tough race. The district he’s running in gave just 36 percent of its vote to President Obama in 2012.
