Retiring Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) has endorsed in the race to replace him, throwing his support behind former Michigan Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop (R).
{mosads}”Bishop will stand up to liberal policies of the Obama administration, just like he stood up and fought for us against the liberal polices of the Granholm administration,” Rogers said in a statement.
Bishop is facing off against Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan Barnett (R) in the primary to succeed Rogers in his Republican-leaning seat. Democrats are hopeful they can recruit Ingham County Clerk Barb Byrum (D) to run.
Rogers announced his retirement in late March. The filing deadline is in two weeks.
