Republican incumbent beats former judge in Illinois

Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.), an early target for Democrats, was reelected to a second term Tuesday, beating Democrat Ann Callis, according to the Associated Press. 

With 75 percent of precincts reporting, Davis beat Callis 58 to 42 percent. 

{mosads}Davis was first elected to the House in 2012 and was expected to win again.

Callis previously served as a chief judge in the state’s judicial court circuit.
